Mortgage Rates Inch To New 7 Month Highs

Mortgage rates avoided the larger-scale swings that they might have considering the important data on tap today. Instead, they merely began the day just barely into their worst levels in about 7 months (depends on the lender, some are improved, others unchanged) and, for the most part, stayed right there despite a good bit of volatility surrounding today's big new. While many lenders are still at 3.625% in terms of Best-Execution for 30yr Fixed, Conventional Loans, 3.75% is increasingly prevalent...

Mortgage Rates Improve At Slightly Faster Pace

Mortgage rates were more unified in their improvements today after beginning the week rather equivocally on Tuesday. Most lenders offered improved interest rates or reduced costs (or increased lender credit) for the same rates available yesterday. Additionally, several large lenders offered bigger-than-average improvements, doing more to affect the average day-over-day change. In fact, 3.375% is edging back into the frame of reference as a Best-Execution rate for 30yr Fixed, Conventional loans, though...

Mortgage Rates Eke Out Minor Improvements After Late-Day Reversal

Mortgage rates were essentially unchanged Today. On average, rates were slightly higher to begin the day, but an afternoon reversal in bond markets was sufficiently strong to prompt many lenders to release positively revised rate sheets. That tipped the scales back toward a slight improvement on the day with Best-Execution for 30yr Fixed, Conventional loans continuing to hold in the 3.375% to 3.5% range. Mortgage Rates Improve On Average, But Not For Every Lender

Mortgage rates continued to inch lower on average after rising to the highest levels since September at the end of last week. There were no significant market moving events behind the move, but rather, rates markets are simply consolidating after last week's fast-paced changes. Those changes brought the Best-Execution rate for 30yr Fixed, Conventional loans to 3.5%, and for most lenders, that's where it remains, though the borrowing costs associated with that rate mostly moved lower today. Additionally...

Mortgage Rates Hold Ground After Rising On Friday

Mortgage rates are very slightly lower today compared to Friday's latest offerings. However, Friday's rates were the highest of the week after the stronger-than-expected jobs report gave a boost to stocks and did some damage to bond markets. With rates able to hold their ground today, Best-Execution rates for 30yr Fixed, Conventional loans remain in transit between 3.375% and 3.25% depending on the lender and scenario. Mortgage Rates Moderately Improved, Back To Recent Lows

Mortgage rates continued yesterday afternoon's positive momentum , moving back to their best recent levels. In fact, rates were fairly close to those levels by the end of yesterday's session. So even though they're technically back to their recent lows, the day-over-day change in a rate quote at any given lender might hard to notice. Best-Execution for 30yr Fixed Conventional Loans remains at 3.375% but at these lows, 3.25% is increasingly viable depending on the lender and scenario. ( Read More...

Mortgage Rates Continue To Improve Moderately

Mortgage rates across multiple lenders were much more unified in their movement versus yesterday. Most lenders where unchanged to moderately improved and the overall range of that movement (or lack thereof) was significantly smaller than it has been in recent days. The net effect for today is a 30yr Fixed Best-Execution rate that remains at 3.375% for Conventional loans. Best Day For Mortgage Rates In Over A Week

It's a testament to the persistence of the recent move higher that mortgage rates experienced their best day in over a week on Tuesday. Reason being: the improvements weren't anything special and not at all out of line with an average " good day for mortgage rates ." It's just that that we've only seen one day of improvement since October 12th and today's gains are slightly better. Best-Execution for 30yr Fixed Conventional Loans remains at 3.375% among most lenders, though adjacent rates are viable...

Trading levels in the secondary mortgage market began the day in the same territory as Friday afternoon and gradually improved throughout the day.
